Dr. Azrina Husin received her education from the prestigious Tohoku University, Japan. She is a sociologist with a strong background in phenomenology and grounded theory. Her work is very much informed by that of C. W. Mills, E. Goffman and P. Bourdieu. Her area of specialization is sociology of the media. Her research interests also include culture in the age of globalization and gender studies. She is actively involved in consultation projects and has hold various administrative positions in the university.
