Shariffah Suraya Syed Jamaludin

Dr. Shariffah Suraya Syed Jamaludin is a Senior Lecturer in the Section of Anthropology and Sociology, School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her academic journey began when she received her doctorate degree from University Malaya in January 2011. Her research area is Medical Anthropology/Anthropology of Health where she specialized and has expertise in the studies on the well being of postpartum mothers. She has written few publications on postpartum care, food and motherhood and also women’s healthcare. She is also the author of a book entitled "Women’s Healthcare: Tradition and Modern Practice" which was published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in 2013.
